Reporting Data Issues in Precog
If you experience missing data or duplicate data in your destination database, you can report these issues in Precog.
- Log in to Precog. Navigate to the pipeline containing the datasets in question.
- Click on the “Report data issues” button.
- Select the datasets that are having issues. Click on the “Report selected datasets” button.
- Select what type of data issue you are experiencing for the first selected dataset.
- Each selection will open reporting options for you to fill out with information Precog needs to diagnose your data issues.
Data is missing rows
- Screenshots of missing rows. Provide screenshots of the missing data from the data source software application. Include IDs and distinguishing field names in the screenshots. You are required to upload at least one screenshot, but you can provide multiple screenshots to ensure Precog has all the necessary information.
- Data examples (optional). Providing a text file of the missing data records is optional but very helpful. Capture as many complete records with ID as you can in a text file (CSV, JSON).
Data has duplicate rows
- Screenshots of duplicate rows. Provide screenshots of the duplicated entries loaded by Precog into your destination database. Include IDs and distinguishing field names in the screenshots. You are required to upload at least one screenshot, but you can provide multiple screenshots to ensure Precog has all the necessary information.
Table is missing columns.
- Missing column names. Enter the names of the columns or fields that are missing.
- Screenshots of missing columns. Provide screenshots of the expected columns from the data source software application. Include IDs and distinguishing field names in the screenshots. Uploading screenshots is optional, but this information helps ensure Precog has all the necessary information.
- Screenshots of missing rows. Provide screenshots of the missing data from the data source software application. Include IDs and distinguishing field names in the screenshots. You are required to upload at least one screenshot, but you can provide multiple screenshots to ensure Precog has all the necessary information.
- If you selected only one dataset, click on the “Finish reporting” button to submit the data issues. If you selected multiple datasets, click on “Next dataset”. You are then prompted to repeat the process for each subsequent dataset. If you feel that you have provided enough information, you can click on “Skip remaining reports”. This will immediately submit your reported data issues without moving through all the remaining selected datasets.
