Getting Started with Precog
This is a quick start guide to Precog Express.
- Sign Up / Log In
- Sign up for a trial account or log in to an existing account.
- Access Precog Express through the web UI at precog.cloud or eu.precog.cloud. If you require GDPR compliance, please use eu.precog.cloud.
- Sign up for a trial account or log in to an existing account.
- Add a Source
- Select from the list of supported connectors.
- Provide credentials (OAuth, API keys, usernames/passwords, or tokens).
- Once a data source is connected, Precog discovers all available datasets (e.g., tables, endpoints, or reports).
- Select the data sets you want for your use case (e.g., Accounts, Invoices, Campaigns).
- If the connector you want is not listed, you can create a new connector. Supply a use case, the API documentation, and your credentials. Precog will build the new connector and notify you.
- Select from the list of supported connectors.
- Add a Destination
- Select a platform where you would like the data delivered.
- Supply credentials for the destination data warehouse or BI tool.
- Select a platform where you would like the data delivered.
- Create a Pipeline
- Name the pipeline after the project or report it will support. You can combine data from multiple data sources in a single pipeline or create separate pipelines for different reports.
- Use the Advanced Edit option to employ Cron scheduling.
- Load Data
- Once the pipeline is created, the initial data load will begin. The initial load may take minutes or several hours, depending on the amount of data and if the API source applies any rate limiting.
- Add a data loading schedule. You can choose to have data automatically loaded on a schedule. Alternatively, you can load manually by clicking on the Start load button in your pipeline.

- Select the hour in UTC to start the next incremental data load (delta load).
- Select a frequency (weekly, daily, hourly, etc.).

- After loading, you’ll see clean, analytics-ready tables in your data warehouse or BI tool.
